More recognition

I guess this has been a good year for me so far, at least as it pertains to photo contests. One of the photos I shot last summer in the organic garden at Karme Choling Buddhist Retreat Center (Barnet, VT) been selected as a finalist in Smithsonian Magazine’s 6th Annual Photography Contest. (Apparently the good folks at the Smithsomian were less concerned about "Little Shop of Horrors"-style flower porn than were the folks at Photographer's Forum.

The odds/statistics are mindboggling: the photo is one of only 50 that were singled out for recognition from more than ***17,000*** entries received from professional and amateur photographers around the world.

As a finalist, the image will be featured for a limited time on the magazine’s web site, beginning March 2, 2009. (There will be a "Reader's Choice" category, so please stop by and vote for the pic.)

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember which pic I submitted. It's one of these two:
